Tesla Gen 2 Destination Charger Replacement — In Stock

Looking for a replacement Tesla Destination Charger? We stock new Gen 2 80A High Power Wall Connectors (HPWC) with 8.5-ft and 24-ft cable options for compatible existing installations at hotels, resorts, casinos and parking facilities.

If an existing Gen 2 unit fails, a compatible replacement may let your electrician reuse the current charging location, electrical circuit and wired power-sharing setup without converting the entire site to a different charger generation.

Tesla Gen 2 Wall Connector specifications

What you need to know before replacing a Gen 2

Gen 2's adjustable current setting and wired power-sharing support are useful for sites that already have dedicated charging circuits or groups of Wall Connectors.

Up to 80AMaximum output on a suitable 100A circuit
AdjustableInstaller can set a lower current for a suitable smaller circuit
Up to 4Compatible Gen 2 units in a wired power-sharing group
277VSingle-phase rating marked on our current inventory packaging
Can I keep my existing wiring and breaker?

Sometimes. A like-for-like Gen 2 replacement may allow existing infrastructure to remain, but the electrician must confirm the replacement model/revision, voltage rating, breaker and conductor size, grounding, mounting and code compliance. An identical-looking housing does not guarantee a no-changes installation.

Can I use a smaller circuit or reduce charging amperage?

Yes. Tesla Gen 2 Wall Connectors have installer-configurable current settings for suitable smaller branch circuits. For example, Tesla lists 40A output on a 50A circuit breaker and 32A output on a 40A breaker, versus 80A on a 100A breaker. This must be configured by a qualified installer to match the site; lowering the charger setting does not fix inadequate or unsafe wiring. Tesla Gen 2 specifications.

What if several Gen 2 chargers share power?

Gen 2 supports wired group power management for up to four compatible Wall Connectors (one leader and up to three followers). A replacement in an existing group must have its communication wiring and settings verified and reconfigured as needed by the electrician.

What about 277V commercial service?

Our current Gen 2 inventory packaging states 277V single-phase. A qualified electrician must verify the actual unit nameplate and proper phase-to-neutral supply before installation. Never connect the charger to 480V line-to-line.

Will every Tesla charge at 80A? What about the Destination Charging listing?

No. Vehicle onboard charging limits may be lower than 80A. Also, replacing a charger does not automatically guarantee continued Tesla Destination Charging map listing or commercial program participation; Tesla controls those requirements separately.

Gen 2 vs Gen 3

For legacy Destination Charging sites, Gen 2 is usually the right replacement target

Properties with older Tesla Destination Charging installations are usually trying to replace a failed Gen 2 Wall Connector—not substitute a newer lower-cost Gen 3 unit intended more for recent home-use positioning.

Our current Gen 2 inventory packaging is marked 277V single-phase, and Gen 2 supports wired power sharing among up to four compatible units. That combination is especially relevant for many commercial replacement projects.

The electrician must still verify the actual unit nameplate, wiring and branch-circuit design before installation.

Why fast replacement matters

A broken destination charger is a guest-experience problem

When a hotel or property advertises Tesla charging but the unit is out of order, guests may need to leave the site to charge elsewhere. Keeping compatible replacement hardware available helps restore the amenity faster.

This section supports hospitality replacement intent and helps bridge to the broader commercial page for hotels, casinos and resorts.
