Level 2 EV Charger for Kia Niro EV

This Primecom 40A portable Level 2 charger features a SAE J1772 connector for direct Level 2 AC charging of compatible Kia Niro EV vehicles.

Simply plug the charger into your selected compatible 240V outlet and connect the charging handle directly to your Niro EV. The charger can provide up to 40A / 9.6kW at 240V, while your vehicle automatically controls charging based on its onboard AC charging capability.

Connector compatibility: 2019–2026 Kia Niro EV vehicles use the SAE J1772 portion of their CCS1 charge port for Level 2 AC charging, so the Primecom J1772 charging handle connects directly without a vehicle-side adapter. Kia's approved NACS adapter for these vehicles is intended for compatible DC fast charging and should not be used as a Level 2 AC charging adapter.

The 2023–2026 Kia Niro EV supports up to approximately 11kW Level 2 AC charging, allowing the Primecom 40A portable charger to provide its full 9.6kW output. Earlier 2019–2022 Niro EV models are limited to approximately 6.6kW AC charging and will automatically draw less than the Primecom charger's maximum 40A output. A compatible 48A hardwired charger can provide somewhat faster charging on 2023–2026 vehicles, up to the Niro EV's approximately 11kW onboard limit.

After doing a lot of research, I learned that Primecom.Tech is the only company that makes EV charging cables longer than 25 feet with the charging unit built into the cable. This is essential if like me, you have a situation where your EV can't be parked within 25 feet of the charging unit. Primecom.Tech has EV charging cables in 30, 40 and even 50 foot sizes. I learned that their products are very high-quality and that they are really knowledgeable and experienced. Before buying their 50 foot 40 amp charger, I spoke at length with David, who I believe is the founder of the company, and I was extremely impressed with his technical and practical knowledge, and his patience with the many questions I asked. It charges (at the 24 amps setting) at the same speed (5.6-5.8 volts) as the Level 2 charger that came with the car (a 2026 Kia EV9, which have NACS ports).
